This is Part 2 of the 6-part translation of Wallace’s first party with the Wallace Chung W Liang Family, his official fan club in China.
The following terms frequently showed up in the transcript:
Xiao Wa= Little Wa=Little Wallace=Nickname for Wallace by the fans
LM=Liang Min=Good Citizen=Wallace’s People=Nickname for the Wallace fans
Wolves=Another nickname for the Wallace fans as “Lang” [wolf/wolves] sounds like “Liang”. Also, the nickname pokes fun at the Wallace fans who are passionate to the point where they appear “lustful” like the “se lang” aka the “lewd wolf”, a Chinese word meaning the “lewd person”…Actually the title of the transcript is “Zhong Hanliang [Wallace Chung’s name in Chinese]—The Touching Words That Xiao Wa Said to the Wolves”…
Liang Shu=Nickname for the boyfriend/husband of Wallace’s female fans
[Translator’s Note: In this video, Wallace and the fans played the games of guessing his song titles and song lyrics.]
[05:50] …The girlfriend in red…my mis…mis…mistake…lady…the lady in red…(Blogger’s Comment: Wa’s mistake caused a burst of howling by the wolves.)
[Translator’s Note: Wallace was about to say “Peng You” [friend] but he said “Nv Peng You” [girlfriend] instead by mistake.]
[12:21] LM: Pan Xi from Nan Jing loves you so much!
[Translator’s Note: Pan Xi means “pretty girl/girlfriend” in the Nanjing dialect, while Pan Dong means “cute guy/boyfriend.”]
Wa: What happened to you?…Everyone has different…[Then the fan interrupted him impatiently and screamed: Pan Dong, I love you!] Are you Pan Xi? You must come from Nanjing, right? Oh, you are all from Nanjing, so you are all Pan Xi? Whose Pan Xi are you? (Blogger’s Comment: Wallace was teasing the girl.)
[Translator’s Note: After the “flirting” conversation, they went on to answer the question in the game.]
LM [in the end]: Pan Dong, I love you!
Wa: Thank you, Pan Xi!!!
[17:29] LM: Xiao Wa, I came to see you with my Liang Shu [Jicama, nickname for the husband/boyfriend of Wallace’s female fans]!!!
Wa: The meaning of Liang Shu is…I know, he is your PAN DONG, right? Then who am I? (Blogger’s Comment: Wallace was blatantly teasing the fans again!)
LM: You are the BIG PAN DONG!
Wa: BIG PAN DONG! Hahahaha…(Blogger’s Comment: Wallace was laughing so proudly. Well let him show off!!! No matter how proud he is, the number of his “wives” will remain the official number of the wives he had in the “Palace of Imperial Concubines”.)
[Translator’s Note: For those who don’t understand the blogger’s comment—here the blogger poked fun at Wallace by connecting his reply with one of his interviews during the Royal Tramp (2008) era. In an interview, a reporter asked Wallace if he was jealous that Wei Xiaobao, the leading character, had seven wives in the TV series. He responded that he was not jealous at all, because he played the role of Kangxi Emperor who had 3,000 concubines in the imperial palace. He also quipped that actually 3,000 is only an official number for the public, implying that there could be more in reality. The blogger was obviously impressed by Wallace’s witty reply and referred to the interview here in the comment.]
Wa: Why do I feel…there are thunders? What’s the noise? (The fans are stomping the feet [pretending to protest Wallace’s acceptance of the “Pan Dong” invitation.] Are you guys saying no? Right? I DON’T WANT IT [I don’t want to be other people’s Pan Dong].
[Translator’s Note: Wallace was good at reading the fans’ minds. 😉 ]
LM: Xiao Wa, we and the Liang Shu [our husbands/boyfriends] love you!
Wa: Thank you! Is he also a member of the Liang Family?
LM: Yes, he must be.
Wa: The Liang Family…en, we should love and be kind to each other…[Fans laughed.]
[Translator’s Note: Then Wallace revealed that he started performing in the sixth grade. He was in a school drama called “Ali Baba and Forty Thieves”. The host asked the fans which role the fans thought Wallace played in the drama. Most fans shouted out, “One of the thieves!” Wallace pretended to be shocked and asked if the fans thought he looked like a thief. 😉 He admitted that he did play one of the thieves.]
[23:17] LM: Xiao Wa, I wish that you do better and better in your career; and I wish you are healthy and find a girlfriend soon…
Wa: I did [find a girlfriend]! (Blogger’s Comment: Wa covered the mouth pretending to be horrified [for giving away an unwanted secret] and purposefully peeping around [as if he was panicked]. His facial expression was too cute~~~)
LM: Find a sister-in-law for us!
Wa: I did! (Blogger’s Comment: This naughty kid deliberately lowered the voice and extended the last syllable. So gentle…]
[Translator’s Note: Then the fans began stomping their feet.]
Wa: You are not stomping your feet to show dissatisfaction, are you?
LM: We are happy! We are happy [that you found a girlfriend!]
Wa: Oh, you guys freaked me out! (Blogger’s Comment: Was he really freaked out? You just keep feigning! Keep pretending, keep faking. That would just make you even cuter!)
Thank you! I also wish you progress in academics, and good grades! That way you’ll be able to visit me anytime you want! (Blogger’s Comment: This God of Cuteness. He must have been used to playing cute!)
[27:01] LM: I am so hyped!!!
Wa: I can tell!!!
LM: I wish you stay in good health and that everything goes the way you want it to!
Wa: Why did you talk as if it were the Chinese New Year? I also wish you stay in high spirits and that all your dreams come true! Best of luck in the Year of Snake!! Just kidding, just kidding…Thank you! Thank you!
Liang Shu [The fan’s boyfriend]: Wallace, I love you!!!!
Wa: Please don’t be so loud all of a sudden [jokingly]…Are you…also…her Liang Shu?
The fan’s boyfriend: Yes!
Wa: Then please take good care of her for me! When she wants to see me, please don’t stop her! You must take the responsibility to be her driver! OK?
